The Schrade brand of knives dates back to the early 20th century when George Schrade, a mechanical engineer, founded the Schrade Cutlery Company in Walden, New York, USA.
Throughout the 1940s, the Schrade Cutlery Company supplied millions of pocket knives to American troops during World War II. After the war, Schrade dedicated itself to the production of high quality hunting and fishing knives.
In 2004, the Schrade Cutlery Company went bankrupt, but the Schrade brand was acquired by Taylor Brands LLC, which continues to produce Schrade knives with the same level of quality and attention to detail.
