History of the knife brand Benchmade;

Benchmade was founded in 1988 by Les de Asis in California under the name "Balisong" initially, in reference to the Balisong butterfly knife. The brand is a renowned knife manufacturer based in Oregon City, Oregon, United States with a focus on producing high-quality tactical and general purpose knives.

In 1990, the brand moved its headquarters to Oregon and changed its name to Benchmade, referring to the practice of handcrafting folding blades, while the "Bali-Song" brand was reserved for butterfly knives.

Technology used in Benchmade knives;

Over the years, the company has developed and applied different technological innovations to its products. In this sense, Benchmade uses a variety of high-quality stainless steels, such as CPM-S30V, CPM-20CV, and others. Materials united by their resistance to corrosion, thread retention and durability over time.

Another aspect that many of these knives have in common is the locking system. The company is in fact famous for having patented the "AXIS Lock" locking system. This system offers excellent stability and safety for the blade, allowing easy opening and closing of the knife with just one hand.

Much attention is also given to the handle, these knives are in fact made with various high quality materials, including G-10, micarta and aluminium. These materials offer durability, firm grip and comfort during use. Designed for comfortable and safe use, with an ergonomic grip that reduces hand fatigue during use.

Benchmade models;

The company offers a wide range of products, many of which are mass-produced. Among the most well-known productions we remember, for example, the Bugout knife, which is known for being incredibly light and suitable for everyday use. It has a stainless steel blade often made with CPM-S30V or CPM-20CV steel and Grivory plastic handles. Like many Benchmade knives, the Bugout uses the AXIS locking system, known for its safety and ease of use.

Among the brand's military tactical solutions, there is the Benchmade Adamas knife known for its robustness and resistance. It is designed for tactical use  has a high quality stainless steel blade, is known for its durability and edge retention. The handle has lanyard holes that allow you to attach a rope or lanyard for added carrying versatility.

Finally, among the EDC models we remember the Benchmade 940, also known as Benchmade 940 Osborne, is a high quality folding knife known for its elegant design and versatility. Among its main features we remember how the handle of the 940 is often made of anodized aluminum and is known for its ergonomic design and comfort during use. The high quality stainless steel folding blade, often made with premium steel such as the CPM-S30V or CPM-20CV, AXIS locking mechanism.

Collaborations with the Benchmade brand;

Benchmade has a history of collaborating with internationally renowned designers, collaborations initiated to create knives with innovative designs and exceptional performance. over the years, these collaborations have led to the creation of unique and appreciated models in the world of knives.

Warren Osborne;

One of the most fruitful collaborations is the one undertaken with Warren Osborne. The brand has worked extensively with the famous designer Warren Osborne to create several bestselling knife models, including the Benchmade 940 Osborne.

Steve Tarani;

Benchmade worked with Steve Tarani, a self-defense expert, to create specialized tactical knives, such as the Benchmade SOCP Dagger, designed for use in law enforcement and personal safety.

Shane Sibert;

Among the most well-known collaborations we also remember the one undertaken with S. Sibert, the company collaborated with this designer to create high-quality hunting and outdoor knives, including the Benchmade 162 Bushcrafter.

Over the years, these collaborations have resulted in a wide range of Benchmade knife designs, each with its own style, purpose and distinctive features.
